Star Wars: Visions is a unique animated series on Disney+ that brings fresh and creative takes on the Star Wars universe. Created by Lucasfilm, the series features short films made by different animation studios from around the world. Each episode tells its own story, offering new perspectives and styles inspired by the galaxy far, far away.

The first volume, released in 2021, focused on Japanese anime, with studios like Trigger, Science Saru, and Production I.G. bringing their vision to life. The second volume, released in 2023, expanded globally, featuring studios from Spain, Ireland, Chile, South Korea, India, and more. Each studio had complete freedom to create their own version of Star Wars, with guidance from Lucasfilm.

Both volumes were praised by critics and fans alike. Now, a third volume is set to release in 2025, continuing the tradition of bold storytelling and stunning animation.

Not much is known about Volume 3 but an unofficial look into the upcoming season of the anthology reveals new details regarding one specific episode.

One of the new animated shorts, titled “Black,” promises to deliver a unique and intense story.

The short will explore the inner turmoil of a stormtrooper who is on the brink of defeat. Rather than focusing on traditional battles, “Black” will dive deep into the stormtrooper’s tormented mind, showing the rage, conflict, and emotions that come with war.

Adding to the short’s powerful atmosphere, Japanese artist Sakura Fujiwara will compose the music, bringing her signature style to the emotional story.
