Peter Weller Would Return for ‘RoboCop’ Reboot Under the Right Conditions

We’re in 1987 and Paul Verhoeven is just releasing his latest movie – the sci-fi action flick RoboCop. The critics loved it and the film earns a massive (for the time) $53,424,681 on a $13,000,000 buget, becoming a huge hit. Three years late, a sequel is made and while not as successful, it cemented RoboCop’s status in the history of pop culture.

The titular character was, in both of these movies, played by Peter Weller, whose career was marked by this role. Today, Weller is a writer and has a book coming out soon, but while talking to the press recently, he revealed whether he would come back to the world of RoboCop.

The role of RoboCop is a truly iconic one. Several actors have portrayed the iconig cyborg, both in live-action and animated works (including Joel Kinnaman!), but Peter Weller will remain as the actor who made the role and whose inspired performances made RoboCop who he is today.

Recently, Weller was “caught” by the media on an airport, where he answered questions about his book, but also about his potential return to the RoboCop franchise in light of a possible reboot coming out in the near future (seeing how he is 77 years old now).

Weller revealed that he has not been contacted about anything but that if the opportunity arose, he would gladly come back to “do anything,” although he has two conditions. He would come back only if the script was great and if the pay was good. Not much, but these are two very subjective things.

Weller’s potential cameo shouldn’t be ruled out immediately, but it remains to be seen whether it will ever happen. Until then, keep following us for more updates!
