For six brilliant issues, the world of Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collided. The books, which brought together the like of Batman, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael, garnered high praise for its storytelling, art, and seamless intertwining of all the characters. It was created by James Tynion IV and Freddie Williams II and launched at the tail-end of 2015.
The crossover takes place in Gotham, where after a series of raids, Batman discovers a group of ninjas is to blame. In Batman’s world, the mere mention of Ninja’s can only mean one thing, The League of Assassins. In this book, however, it isn’t the League of Assassins. The Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle crossover was so good that Warner Bros. had no choice but to make it an animated movie. That’s right. Come May 14th of this year, the comic book will become a watchable movie. Check out the trailer below.
You can bet that with as good as animated DC movies are (Under The Red Hood, Flashpoint Paradox, Mask of the Phantasm) and the long history of animated Ninja Turtles, this movie will be fan-f*ing-tastic.
Cheers,
Joel
