Adam Sandler Shares the First Teaser for Netflix’s Sequel ‘Happy Gilmore 2’

Adam Sandler is stepping back onto the golf course in the first teaser for Netflix’s upcoming sequel, Happy Gilmore 2. Nearly three decades after the original hit theaters, Sandler reprises one of his most iconic roles.

Adam Sandler shared the teaser for Happy Gilmore 2 on Christmas Day. It coincided with the platform’s historic broadcast of two live NFL games, marking an exciting moment for both football and movie fans. The sequel is set to premiere on Netflix in 2025.

Sandler’s Happy Gilmore returns with a mix of familiar faces and new additions. Julie Bowen reprises her role as Virginia Venit, Happy’s girlfriend in the first film, while Christopher McDonald is back as the infamous Shooter McGavin.

Joining the cast are Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley (The Substance), comedian Nick Swardson, NFL star Travis Kelce, rapper Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi), and filmmaker Benny Safdie, known for directing Sandler in Uncut Gems.

The sequel is directed by Kyle Newacheck, who previously worked with Sandler on Netflix’s Murder Mystery. Tim Herlihy, who co-wrote the original Happy Gilmore, has returned to pen the script. Dennis Dugan, the director of the first film, will serve as executive producer, with Jack Giarraputo and Robert Simonds handling production duties.

The original Happy Gilmore introduced audiences to a hot-tempered hockey player who turned to professional golf in a desperate bid to save his grandmother’s home. His journey was anything but ordinary, featuring wild antics, a memorable rivalry with Shooter McGavin, and even a hilarious brawl with The Price Is Right host Bob Barker.

Fans can now catch a glimpse of what’s in store by watching the teaser for Happy Gilmore 2. The sequel promises to bring back the humor, charm, and chaos that made the first movie a classic.
