‘Agatha All Along’ Makes Sure That Scarlet Witch Is More Relevant Than Ever for the MCU—Even in Death

As a sequel to ‘WandaVision,’ we knew that ‘Agatha All Along’ would feature plenty of references to Scarlet Witch, despite her journey seemingly ending in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Everyone who means something in the MCU has been telling us for the past year that Scarlet Witch is dead. Fans who feel that this is all just a massive misdirect might be onto something.

‘Agatha All Along’ is Agatha’s show, Jac Schaeffer, the showrunner, already admitted once before that she doesn’t want Wanda stealing Agatha’s thunder, so why does it feel that ‘Agatha All Along’ really just sets up Wanda’s return? And why is it more important than ever for Wanda to return?

MCU is currently in a strange place. When you take into account former Avengers, things are a mess. Iron Man is dead and off the table, Feige stated as much. However RDJ is set to return as Doctor Doom and I’m telling you right now, fans won’t be able to dissociate the actor from his former role and they will be looking for traces of Iron Man in Doom constantly.

We have a new Captain America, Sam Wilson, but quite frankly the hype surrounding his movie feels extremely light, and the movie itself looks more like a Hulk installment. Thor has a movie coming up, according to reports, but fans are really afraid to have Thor show up on screen. Purely due to the fact, it’s just one more opportunity to ruin his character.

Hulk is also ruined if you’re going by majority opinion. Shuri’s Black Panther and Captain Marvel’s latest installments somewhat flopped, and it’s going to be a while before they are shown in any important role.

This leaves us with the Scarlet Witch. One of the original Avengers whose story was somewhat butchered but enough time has passed that we want to see where the next chapter of the story takes us.

‘Agatha All Along’ made Wanda the center of the MCU again, and we think we know where this Witches Road is leading us. Wanda’s return cannot be simple, this is why it has to be set up through several projects. Our best bet is the rumored ‘The Children’s Crusade’ project.

In ‘The Children’s Crusade,’ the Young Avengers (most importantly Wiccan) embark on a quest to find and confront the Scarlet Witch. The Scarlet Witch caused a catastrophe with reality-warping abilities, and her actions in the ‘Avengers Disassembled’ and ‘House of M’ storylines had significant consequences for the Marvel Universe.

I’m sure that ‘House of M’ and ‘Avengers Disassembled’ can be swapped for the multiversal theme. Young Avengers are already a thing in the MCU – with Kamala Khan starting the initiative and several members already identified.

It would be a shame for the rumored ‘Young Avengers’ project not to at least touch upon the matter of Wiccan’s and Speed’s problem with their dead mother.

Even in death, Scarlet Witch’s future looks bright. We’re fairly certain she’s going to have a massive role to play in the upcoming installments – possibly even beyond the Multiversal Saga.
