After nine exciting episodes that continued the story from WandaVision, Agatha All Along concluded on October 30, 2024. It was a fun journey, and while many fans predicted the major events, there were still plenty of surprises and thrills that made the show a real success.
However, the path to success was bumpy, much like the Witches’ Road in the series. At first, the show received mixed reviews from both critics and fans, but it quickly picked up steam and became beloved by many.
This article will focus on how well the series performed and why we confidently say that Agatha All Along is a true hit that cannot be overlooked!
If you’ve watched the series, you probably know how it all wrapped up. We had correctly guessed that the Teen would be revealed as Wiccan and that Rio Vidal was actually Lady Death.
As for Agatha, she took a powerful journey down the Witches’ Road, showing both her immense power and her dark past. The series concludes with the famous kiss between Agatha and Rio, after which Agatha returns as a spirit to guide Wiccan.
While fans are hopeful for more appearances from Agatha and Billy, Marvel hasn’t confirmed or denied any future plans. Jac Schaeffer mentioned that there’s a good chance we could see them again, and the fact that Marvel didn’t categorize Agatha All Along as a limited series leaves the door open for a second season.
So, would it make sense for Marvel to pursue a second season? Was the show successful enough? Let’s take a look at the ratings for all the series and seasons released in MCU’s Phase 5.
Series (Season) | Critics’ Score (Status) | Audience Score |
---|---|---|
Secret Invasion (Season 1) | 52% (Rotten) | 44% |
Loki (Season 2) | 82% (Certified Fresh) | 82% |
What If…? (Season 2) | 90% (Fresh) | 65% |
Echo (Season 1) | 70% (Fresh) | 60% |
Agatha All Along (Season 1) | 83% (Certified Fresh) | 83% |
When you look at the numbers, you’ll find that Agatha All Along has the highest audience score of all the MCU Phase 5 shows released so far, along with the second-best critics’ score, only behind Season 2 of What If…? The audience score for What If…? is a relatively low 65%. This series has outperformed the popular Loki, whose second season didn’t match the quality of the first.
The critical consensus on Rotten Tomatoes for Agatha All Along states: “The marvelous Kathryn Hahn is supported by a cast of memorable performers in this MCU spinoff that cleverly creates its own unique style.”
Clearly, there’s no denying that the series is a hit, and we highly recommend watching it!
