Did You Notice Agatha’s Subtle Confirmation of Rio Vidal’s True Identity in Episode 4?

‘Agatha All Along’ Episode 4 was just released and the musically-themed episode finally showcased the mysteries of Alice’s family and brought the coven to the Trial by Fire.

This week’s episode was always meant to be a special one, mainly due to the coven losing their fifth member due to Sharon Hart dying in episode 3. We always knew that Rio Vidal was also a Green Witch and that she would join the coven in one way or another, but we didn’t know how.

Agatha and the rest of the coven knew they had to “fill the gap” with another Green Witch this is why they decided to use a powerful summoning spell. None of them knew what kind of Green Witch they would get and Agatha was surprised most of all when Rio Vidal crawled from underground, literally.

Now over the course of the episode, Agatha and Rio had been bickering, and hints at Rio’s true identity have been teased here and there. Of course, several days ago Marvel merch leak confirmed that Rio Vidal is actually Lady Death, but, we aren’t supposed to know this yet at this point in the show.

In any case, the first hint was during the trial itself when Rio Vidal wanted to set up Agatha by making her say how expendable the coven is for her. They were in the studio and Rio led Agatha to say that once this journey is complete she will get her power, while Rio will get the bodies of her “friends” from the coven.

Rio also hinted at the fact that Agatha is likely long overdue for dying, and Rio appeared in the first episode to reap her soul, something she was previously unable to do due to Agatha’s powers.

Agatha asked for just a bit more time so she could reach the end of the Witches Road, but knowing Agatha she likely has something up her sleeve.

The biggest clue however is related to the Teen. The Teen was seriously harmed during this week’s trial and has started bleeding profusely from the glass wound. He decided to keep the wound secret until they managed to solve the trial.

Once the puzzle has been solved Teen collapses, the coven discovers his injury and Agatha turns toward Rio uttering the word “Don’t!”

Rio likely planned to reap the Teen and Agatha, knowing her real identity, stopped her from claiming him, and with this saved his life. It’s clear that Rio is Death, but how she managed to “attain” that status remains unknown.

It’s also unknown how she and Agatha met and how Rio came to be a Green Witch considering that she is the embodiment of decay and everything opposite of life.
