Alan Tudyk Reportedly Cast in Gunn’s ‘Superman’ – Here’s Our Best Guess on Who He’s Playing

Gunn’s ‘Superman’ is the most exciting movie that fans can look forward to in 2025. Despite ‘Creature Commandos’ being released this December, both Gunn and Safran described the Superman flick as the true start of the DCU.

Now the shooting for the movie wrapped around a month ago, and despite already having a sizeable cast, apparently more names are set to be added to it.

According to Deadline’s sources, Alan Tudyk has been cast in what appears to be a secret role for the movie. Tudyk is already a part of the DCU as he is voicing Dr. Phosphorus in ‘Creature Commandos.’

Even though his role has been kept under wraps and nothing has been officially confirmed, that doesn’t stop us from speculating. Now the most obvious role for him is that of Dr. Phosphorus.

Gunn stated in the past that the cinematic universe will maintain continuity integrity by keeping the voice actors to portray their live-action counterparts. For example, Frank Grillo is voicing Rick Flag Sr., and he will also portray the character in ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 and ‘Superman’ as the set leaks confirmed.

It’s also been confirmed that some members of Creature Commandos will appear in ‘Superman.’ So, the most logical explanation for the casting is that Tudyk will simply reprise his role in a live-action project.

Now the second possibility is that Tudyk is voicing Krypto the Super Dog who was also confirmed to appear in the movie. Our last guess is related to a relatively older rumor. Apparently, Plastic Man is rumored to get his own standalone movie in the DCU, and fans are convinced that Tudyk is going to play him.

The main cast of ‘Superman’ includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Other key roles feature Isabela Merced as the winged superhero Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as an inventor and superhero Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as the brash Green Lantern Guy Gardner, and Nicholas Hoult as Superman’s nemesis, Lex Luthor.
