Over the past two decades, three actors have portrayed Peter Parker, a high-school kid who got bitten by a spider and became Spider-Man. One of those actors was Andrew Garfield, a lead actor in two Spider-Man movies, and he also shared the spotlight as Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland in the third movie, where a multiversal mix-up occurred. So let’s see how to watch Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies in order.
Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies (& one appearance) in order – at a glance
Andrew Garfield appeared on big screens as Spider-Man for the first time in 2012 in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ movie. This movie started a new chapter in Spider-Man’s journey and served as a reboot of Sam Raimi’s trilogy, with Tobey Maguire in the main role. It’s fair to say that the critics were not so fond of Andrew as they were of Tobey, but nevertheless, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ got its sequel, and the third one was planned. Eventually, Andrew returned again as Spider-Man in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’. Here are all the movies Andrew Garfield appeared as Spider-Man:
- ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’
- The Amazing Spider-Man 2′
- ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’
Interestingly, Andrew was the oldest actor among all three who have played the famous web-slinger in live-action movies, but thanks to his youthful appearance, his age was never an issue. Andrew Garfield showed us a more ‘cool’ version of Peter Parker, and that was a fine refreshment, and his chemistry with Gwen Stacey was top-notch.
Are Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies connected? Do you need to watch them in any specific order?
Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies are connected because they are sequels to one another. In the first movie, we get to see how Peter was bitten by a genetically modified spider and his origin story as Spider-Man, and the second movie continues to build on that and further develops Peter’s relationship with Gwen. ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ brings all three Spider-Men from different universes to one place, and that movie connects to Garfield’s standalone movies through many references and events from the past.
The best way to watch all of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies and appearances is by their release date because, in that way, you’ll get the best experience regarding this character.
