Marvel Cinematic Universe Marvel Studios is one of the most popular and versatile media franchises in modern history. They provide audiences with many superhero-based movies and TV shows. In order for those projects to have such success as they do, many actors were gathered and provided us with their astounding performances. Unfortunately, some of those actors are no longer with us, so in this way, we honor them by providing a digital monument in honor of their personas and their characters. This is a list of 51 Marvel actors that died.

1. Alvin Ing (Yat-Sen)

Alvin Ing portrayed Yat-Sen in the TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He appeared in the episode of the show called Aftershocks. He died on July 31, 2021, after bouts with pneumonia, COVID-19, and cardiac arrest. He was 89 years old.

2. Andrew Gregg (S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent)

Andrew Gregg portrayed S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent in the TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He appeared in the episode of the show called S.O.S. Part Two. He died on June 12, 2020. from effects of an internal hemorrhage.

3. Bill Paxton (John Garret)

William “Bill” Paxton portrayed John Garret in the TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He appeared in several episodes of the show. He died on February 25, 2017, at the age of 61. The cause of death was a stroke 11 days following surgery to replace a heart valve and repair aorta damage.

4. Brett Smith (Federal Bridge Agent)

Brett G. Smith portrayed Federal Bridge Agent in the TV show Daredevil in the episode of the same name. He died on April 26, 2021, at the age of 53. Unfortunately, he committed suicide due to a battle with a mental illness.

5. Carlos Lopez Jr. (SWAT Member)

Carlos Lopez Jr., also known as Carlos C-LOs Lopez, portrayed SWAT Member in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He was also a stuntman in the same movie. This actor died on June 24, 2018, at the age of 35, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He suffered from PTSD.

6. Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther)

Chadwick Aaron Boseman was a well-established actor and will always be remembered by Marvel fans as Black Panther. He portrayed T’Challa in Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. He also voiced T’Challa as Star-Lord in several episodes of the What if…? TV show. Chadwick died on August 28, 2020, at the age of 43, of colon cancer.

7. Charles Bradley (Charles Bradley)

Charles Edward Bradley was an American singer who appeared in the Tv Show Luke Cage episode Who’s Gonna Take the Weight? Charles portrayed himself in the show, where he performed his song “Aint It A Sin” and his cover of “Changes” by Black Sabbath. He died of cancer on September 23, 2017, at the age of 68.

8. Che’valier Paul ( U.N. Press Member)

Che’valier Paul appeared in the movie Black Panther where he portrayed a U.N. Press Member. He died on July 11, 2018, at the age of 45 as a victim of the shooting.

9. Clark Middleton (Pretorius Price)

Clark Middleton portrayed Pretorius Price in the TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He appeared in the episode Fear and Loathing on the Planet of Kitson. Clark died on October 4, 2020, after contracting the West Nile virus, a mosquito-borne disease. He was 63.

10. Craig muMs Grant (Reggie/Squabbles)

Craig appeared in the TV Show Luke Cage in the episode Step in the Arena. He portrayed the character Reggie and was one of the inmates at Seagate Prison, where he befriended Luke Cage. Craig died at the age of 52 on March 25, 2021, due to diabetes.

11. David McKail (Johann Schmidt’s artist)

David had a minor role in Captain America: The First Avenger, where he portrayed Johann Schmidt’s artist. He died on December 6, 2021, at the age of 83.

12. DJ AM/Adam Michael Goldstein (DJ AM)

Adam Michael Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, portrayed himself in the movie Iron Man 2, where he had a cameo appearance. He died on August 28, 2009, at the age of 36, from a drug overdose.

13. Dorothy Steel (Merchant Tribe Elder)

Dorothy May Steel portrayed Merchant Tribe Elder in Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She actually didn’t start acting professionally until the age of 88. Dorothy died on October 15, 2021, at the age of 95, due to health complications.

14. Eric Holloway (Townie)

Eric Holloway appeared briefly in the movie Thor as a Townie. He died on February 23, 2014, at the age of 46.

15. Eugene Lazarev (Anton Vanko)

Yevgeni Nikolayevich Lazarev, known as Eugene Lazarev, portrayed Aton Vanko, a Soviet scientist in Iron Man 2. He died on November 18, 2016, at the age of 79, of cardiac arrest.

16. Garret T Satto (Hunter One)

Garret appeared in one of the episodes of Inhumans called Behold…Inhumans! as Hunter One. He died on March 25, 2020, at the age of 55 due to unknown causes.

17. Garry Shandling (Senator Stern)

Garry appeared as Senator Stern, a politician who turned out the be Hydra. He portrayed the character in Iron Man 2, where he had a disagreement with Tony Stark, and in Captain America, where his true colors were revealed. Garry died on March 24, 2016, at the age of 66, from pulmonary thrombosis.

18. Gaspard Ulliel (Anton Mogart)

Gaspard was Anton Mogart, a wealthy antiquities collector, in the TV show Moon Knight. He was 37 when he died because of a skiing accident on 19 January 2022.

19. Harry Dean Stanton (Security Guard)

Harry portrayed a security guard in The Avengers. He actually got this minor role by coincidence. Harry died on September 15, 2017, at the age of 91 of natural causes.

20. Isaac Kappy (Kyle)

Isaac Kappy portrayed the character Kyle in the movie Thor. Apart from being a very good actor, he was also a musician. He was 42 years when he committed suicide by jumping off a bridge into oncoming traffic in Arizona.

21. James Colby (Brian Jones)

James portrayed Brian, Jessica Jones’s father in Jessica Jones. He appeared in one episode. James died at the age of 56 on February 23, 2018. The cause of death is described as a non-communicable disease.

22. James Francis Gunn Sr. (Weird Old Man)

Jim had a minor role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, where he portrayed the character of Weird Old Man. He was the father of James Gunn and Sean Gunn, as well as Leota Gunn’s husband. He passed on August 29, 2019, of natural causes.

22. John Gilbert (Banker)

He played the role of a banker in the episode The lady in the Lake in the TV show Agent Carter. He died on the 21st of August 2021 at the age of 38 due to heart disease.

23. Lee Moore (Elderly Scott Lang)

Lee Moore portrayed the older version of Scott Lang in Avengers: Endgame. He died of natural causes on the 16th of August 2018 in Manhattan, United States.

24. Lisa Masters (Doctor)

Lisa played the role of a doctor in Marvel’s Iron Fist in the episode Under Leaf Pluck Lotus. On the 15th of November 2016, she committed suicide by hanging while on assignment in Lima, Peru, at the age of 52.

26. Leif Bridgman (Jeff)

Leif portrayed the character named Jeff in the TV show Helstorm, episode Leviathan. He died of a drug overdose on March 27, 2020, at the age of 39. His appearance as Jeff in the Helstrom was posthumous.

27. Marva Kicks (District Attorney)

Marva Kicks was an actor who portrayed the character of a district attorney in the MCU’s Daredevil. She passed away on the 16th of September 2022 at the age of 66, and the cause of her death was undisclosed.

28. Michael Kenneth Williams (Harlem Bystander)

Kenneth played the character of Harlem Bystander in The Incredible Hulk. On the 6th of September 2021, Williams’s nephew found him dead in his apartment. He was aged 54 and had died of a drug overdose.

29. Miguel Ferrer (Vice President Rodriguez)

Miguel Ferrer was Vice President Rodriguez in Iron Man 3. He passed away on January 19 at the age of 61 after a battle with cancer.

30. Michael Clarke Duncan (Kingpin)

Michael Clark Duncan portrayed the Kingpin in Daredevil. The actor passed away in 2012 after an episode of a heart attack at the age of 54.

31. Neil Fingleton (Ultron)

Neil played Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron via motion capture. He also played Russian General’s Bodyguard #1 in the X-Men: First Class movie. He died at his home in Gliesgate on February 25, 2017, due to heart failure at the age of 36.

32. Nicholas Tucci (Dealer Gosnell)

Nicholas Tucci appeared in Daredevil, portraying the character of Dealer Gosnell in episode .380. He passed away at the age of 38 on March 3, 2020, after battling cancer.

33. Phyllis Sommerville (Mrs. Vistain)

Phyllis played the role of Mrs. Vistain in two episodes of Daredevil. She passed away at the age of 76 on 16 July 2020 of natural causes.

34. Peter Fonda (Mephistopheles)

Peter Fonda was an American actor and Henry Fonda’s son. He played the Ghost Rider’s wicked boss in Ghost Rider. He died at the age of 79 after a battle with lung cancer.

35. Powers Booth (Gideon Malick)

Booth played Gideon Malick in The Avengers and the TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. On May 14, 2014, he passed away from the effects of pancreatic cancer briefly after his 69th birthday.

36. Paul Robert Soles (Stanley)

Paul was a versatile actor in his appearance in the Marvel adaptations. He portrayed Stanley in The Incredible Hulk, and he also voiced many Marvel characters throughout the years, such as Peter Parker, Hawkeye, and Happy Hogan. He was born on August 11th, 1930, and passed away on May 26th, 2021, from a non-communicable disease at the age of 91 years.

37. Ravil Isyanov ( Anton Petrov)

Ravil appeared in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes The Inside Man and Parting Shot, where he played Anton Petrov. Ravil died on September 30, 2021, at the age of 59, due to cancer.

38. Reg E. Cathey (James Lucas)

Reg was James Lucas, Luke Cage’s father, in the MCU TV show Luke Cage. He died of Lung cancer on the 9th of February 2018, aged 68.

39. Ricardo Andres (Lentil Merchant)

Ricardo appeared as a Lentil Merchant in the Avengers. He died on the 1st of November, 2015, at the age of 65.

40. Roberto Bakker (Bezzera)

Roberto was an actor and an incredible production manager. In The Incredible Hulk, he portrayed Bezzera. Sadly, on April 28, 2014, he passed away at the age of 74.

41. Ron Glass (Doctor Streiten)

Ron Glass portrayed Doctor Streiten in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes Pilot and The Magical Place. He passed away on November 25, 2016, from a respiratory failure at the age of 71.

42. Roy Scheider (Frank Castle Sr)

Roy appeared in The Punisher and played the role of Frank Castle Sr. He passed away at the age of 76 in 2008 after a battle with cancer.

43. Salo Gardner (Extra)

Salo Gardner appeared as an extra in Captain America: The First Avenger. He passed away on December 2, 2018, aged 82.

44. Sharon Jones (Herself)

Sharon Lafaye Jones was a singer, composer, and actress. She was well known for her role in Luke Cage, where she performed “100 Days, 100 Nights” in the episode You Know My Steez. She died on November 18, 2016, resulting from a long battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 60.

45. Sondra James (Majrorie)

Sondra appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming as Marjorie. She passed away from lung cancer in New York City on September 12, 2021, at the age of 82.

46. Stan Lee

Whatever we say or write about Stan Lee, it would probably be an understatement of his genius and character, but here are some objective facts about Stan the Man. Stan was one of the creators and first writers of the Marvel Universe. He served as Marvel Comics’ executive vice president and publisher. He co-created many iconic characters throughout the years, like Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, and numerous more.

Stan Lee was respected and loved by almost everyone, and without him, Marvel Universe would not be what it is today. Stan had many cameo roles in over 4O movies and TV shows, and the audience was always thrilled to see him, even for just a few seconds. He died on November 12, 2018, of cardiac arrest at the age of 96. Stan Lee will always live through his creations, and his legacy will never be forgotten. ‘Nuff Said.’

47. Stephen del Bagno (Himself)

Stephen “Cajun” Del Bagno portrayed himself in the movie Captain Marvel and also worked as a consultant on the same movie. He passed away on April 4, 2018, at the age of 35, due to a crash in Nevada’s Nellis Air Force Base.

48. Stewart Steinberg (Old Male Dog Owner, Ferry Commuter)

Stewart appeared in Jessica Jones’s episode AKA I’ve Got the Blues as an Old Male Dog Owner and in Spider-Man: Homecoming as a Ferry Commuter. He passed away on August 18, 2020, at the age of 84.

49. Vachik Mangassarian (Qasim Zaghlul)

Vachik played Qasim Zaghlul in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode The Asset. He passed away on January 24, 2022, from complications of COVID-19. He was 74 years old.

50. Wayne Robson (Boat Captain)

Wayne Robson was an actor who played the role of a boat captain in The Incredible Hulk. He died on the 4th of April 2011 due to a heart attack.

51. William Hurt (Thaddeus Ross)

William Hurt portrayed the character Thaddeus Ross in MCU’s Black widow. He died on the 13th of March at the age of 71 after a long battle with prostate cancer.

52. Ray Stevenson (Volstagg)

The news of Stevenson’s passing shocked the MCU fans. The actor was 58 and died due to an undisclosed mystery illness while filming a movie named Cassino in Ischia, shot on the Italian island of Ischia itself. He will be remembered for his role as Volstagg, one of Thor’s closest friends and one of the toughest Asgardian warriors. He donned an awesome ginger beard and a huge Asgardian battleaxe known as Brandrheir Undrsigr.
