Amy Adams has expressed her excitement for Rachel Brosnahan’s portrayal of Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman film. Brosnahan’s version of the beloved character is part of the new era of DC under James Gunn’s creative direction.

Adams, who previously portrayed Lois Lane in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League, shared her thoughts during a recent interview with Vanity Fair (excerpt below).

Adams likened superhero roles to theater, where each actor brings a unique interpretation to the character. She’s particularly looking forward to seeing Brosnahan’s sense of humor come through, noting that her natural comedic timing will likely add a fresh and dynamic energy to Lois Lane.

The upcoming film, guided by James Gunn’s vision, will take a fresh approach, emphasizing comic elements and drawing inspiration from the Silver Age of comics. Rachel Brosnahan has expressed her excitement about portraying Lois Lane, a character she has long admired.

Rachel Brosnahan describes Lois Lane as ambitious and fearless, a journalist who will stop at nothing to uncover the best story. She also highlights the evolving landscape of journalism, noting that as print media faces challenges, her Lois remains steadfast in her mission to keep it alive. Brosnahan hints that her portrayal will emphasize Lois’s resilience and drive, especially in the face of adversity.

When asked if she had any advice for Brosnahan, Amy Adams said: “Just have fun. Just have fun, and I’m sure she will. She’s wonderful, and I hope she gets to bring her sense of humor to it. She’s got such a great sensibility, such a good actress, but also such great natural comedic timing, and I hope we get to see some of that in it.”

The film’s impressive cast includes David Corenswet as Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner. Superman: Legacy is set to soar into theaters on July 11th.
