Andrew Garfield Drops More Hints That He is Returning to ‘Spider-Man 4’

Andrew Garfield portrayed Spider-Man in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ (2012) and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ (2014). Although the franchise was never massively popular while he was leading it, he was decent enough in the role which is why fans were extremely happy to see him in ‘No Way Home’ along with Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire.

Now that ‘Spider-Man 4’ is on the horizon and it’s heavily rumored to be a multiversal story, fans have been speculating that the actor might once again return to reprise his role.

Several weeks ago, Garfield debunked the rumors, telling fans not to believe everything they see online, but let’s be honest knowing his track record with lying about Spider-Man role, no one 100 % believed him.

Now in his latest interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor seemingly dropped more hints that he will appear in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man’ flick.

Garfield talked about his latest movie ‘We Live in Time,’ and confirmed his return to acting following a lengthy pause.

I feel looser, I feel less precious, I feel more joyful.

Garfield also listed some names that he would love to work with in the future and several prominent MCU actors are on the list:

I got to work with Zendaya [in Spider-Man: No Way Home], who is just wonderful. I would love to work with her again. I want to work with my friends. I’ve never worked with Eddie Redmayne or Charlie Cox or Tom Sturridge. Cillian [Murphy].

I did a screen test with Cillian once and Ben Whishaw, which was very exciting. There are certain people in the younger generation that I find really exciting as well. Obviously, Timothee Chalamet is just incredible. And Austin Butler is great.

I’d love to work again with my friend Laura Dern. It’s really, really endless. I was so happy to get to work briefly with Ayo [Edebiri in After the Hunt], who I love, and got to do some real work with Julia [Roberts], which was a heavenly thing.

Zendaya is naturally expected to reprise her role as MJ in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man’ movie, although the latest reports state that she is currently re-negotiating her contract and won’t settle for a mere cameo.

There’s also Charlie Cox, who already appeared in the MCU but will return in a much greater role with the upcoming ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Disney+ show. Cox’s Daredevil was also rumored to be one of the characters to appear in ‘Spider-Man 4’ while the movie was still supposed to be a street-level story that sees Kingping pitted against Holland’s Peter Parker.

In any case, a lot of fans love the idea of Garfield returning to the role and we will hopefully see it come to fruition. ‘Spider-Man 4’ will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and is reportedly set to start filming in 2025.
