Venom: The Last Dance was recently released, and despite a mixed reception at first, it became a big hit and a good conclusion to the Venom trilogy. Before the movie came out, fans were excited to hear that Knull, one of Marvel’s most powerful villains, would appear.
Although Knull’s role was small and he didn’t have much screen time, writer/director Kelly Marcel hinted that this was just the start for the character in the cinematic universe. It certainly felt that way.
Andy Serkis, who voiced Knull in the movie, talked about the possibility of the character returning in future Marvel films. He revealed that his casting as Knull was a last-minute decision and shared his interest in coming back to face Spider-Man. Serkis made these comments during an interview at FAN EXPO San Francisco 2024, where other superhero stars like Charlie Cox and Grant Gustin also appeared.
Well, that’s also very interesting. I really, genuinely have no idea. It was very much, “Can you come in?” It was quite last minute, actually. “Can you come in and do the voice for Knull?” So, I came in and did it on the stage. Then there was talk of, “This could go on… He’s quite a big character,” and I was like, “Yeah, I know that.” Well, let’s see what happens, actually.
What Serkis said confirms some interesting rumors we’ve been hearing lately. Knull is rumored to be a major villain in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 and could also bring the Symbiotes to the MCU in Secret Wars. While some of this may not be true, the possibilities are definitely exciting.
