Anthony Mackie and Danny Ramirez Discuss the Bond Between Captain America and the Falcon in ‘Brave New World’
Captain America: Brave New World is bringing back familiar faces, and this time, Anthony Mackie’s Cap isn’t fighting alone. He’ll be joined by Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, a character introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Their bond in that show was just the beginning, and now they’re taking it to the big screen.
Mackie and Ramirez sat down in London to talk about their characters’ growing friendship. Ramirez explained that working with Mackie was easy because he set the right mood on set. He also pointed out that their dynamic was always key to Joaquin’s story.
From the moment he auditioned, it was clear that Joaquin’s journey was about teaming up with one of his heroes and getting to fight alongside him. For Ramirez, the experience has been exciting from the start.
Mackie shared how being around new talent like Ramirez brings fresh energy. He said that working with someone at the start of their career reminds him why he loves acting. ‘You can get jaded after 25 years in this business,’ he admitted.
But seeing Ramirez’s excitement and dedication made him reflect on his own journey. ‘I remember being that kid,’ Mackie said, adding that it pushes him to appreciate the moment more.
The movie also features another Hollywood icon: Harrison Ford, who is stepping into the role of Thunderbolt Ross. While details on his transformation into Red Hulk remain under wraps, his presence alone adds weight to the film.
Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters on February 14. Until then, there’s plenty more Marvel action coming up, so now might be the perfect time for a rewatch.
