Recently, during the ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ panel, Ian Ousley who portrays Sokka in the live-action rendition of the show expressed how he would like to portray one notable member of Teen Titans – Gar Logan aka Beast Boy.
I am really a huge fan of Titans, so I would love to be Beast Boy, that’s like a dream role for me,” he shared. “So, maybe one day?!
He might get an opportunity sooner than expected, and with his impressive martial arts background, he might prove to be excellent for the role.
Ousley began practicing taekwondo at age 9, earning a third-degree black belt in 2018 after five years of national competition. He appeared in three episodes of ’13 Reasons Why’ in 2019 and 2020.
In August 2021, Ousley was cast as Sokka in the live-action adaptation of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender.’ However, controversy arose regarding his Cherokee ancestry, as he is not enrolled in any federally recognized Cherokee tribe but belongs to the Southern Cherokee Nation of Kentucky, which lacks federal recognition and is listed among fabricated tribes. Despite this, the series garnered over 19 million viewers in its first week and was renewed for a second and third season in March 2024.
