The Boys has cemented itself as one of the world’s most popular superhero series. The show recently wrapped its fourth season on July 18, 2024, and is now gearing up for its fifth and final season.
Despite some backlash from so-called “fans,” the season was a critical success, earning a Certified Fresh rating, with viewership numbers that even surpassed those of Season 3.
While the main series nears its conclusion, The Boys universe is far from over. The franchise continues to expand with exciting new projects on the horizon. One of the most anticipated is the prequel series, Vought Rising, which is already in development.
Fans will see the return of Aya Cash’s Stormfront and Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy as the series delves into the origins of Vought International and the rise of supes in modern America.
In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Aya Cash teased that Vought Rising promises to be something special, hinting at exciting developments to come.
If you missed our previous updates, Vought Rising is a prequel series that will explore the origins of Vought International. Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash are confirmed to reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively. The series will be helmed by showrunner Paul Grellong, who has also shared the following details about the upcoming project:
We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of ‘The Boys.’ It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.
We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.
