Matt Reeves’ ‘Batman Epic Crime Saga’ keeps expanding, and the latest installment is currently airing, a show focusing on Oz Cobb’s rise to power following the death of Carmine Falcone in ‘The Batman: Part I.’
Fans were initially skeptical that The Penguin was getting his own standalone show, all such doubts were dismissed after the first episode aired.
Fans immediately started praising pretty much every aspect of the show, from its grounded and gloomy setting to performances delivered by Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti. Now it seems that we might be getting yet another spinoff in the same vein.
According to a popular industry insider, HBO is developing yet another ‘The Batman: Part I’ spinoff focusing on Barry Keoghan’s Joker that we could briefly see in the first movie. Nothing is currently known about the show and keep in mind that these are rumors only. Matt Reeves and Lauren LeFranc did however recently hint that more spinoffs are in the works.
Keoghan played an “Unseen Arkham Prisoner” ‘The Batman’ (2022). Reeves subsequently confirmed that Keoghan’s character was, in fact, the Joker.
A deleted scene featuring Keoghan’s Joker and Robert Pattinson’s Batman was released by Warner Bros. on March 24, 2022, three weeks after the film’s initial release, and the fans received it well.
More than a year ago Collider reported that Keoghan would be returning to his role of The Joker in the upcoming sequel, however, no official confirmation from the studio came, now Variety also asked about Keoghan’s role in the movie, while he didn’t explicitly confirm it, he didn’t deny it in any case.
Fans are already speculating that Keoghan’s Joker will have a minor role in the movie, but a much greater one in ‘The Batman III’ if it ever comes to it that is.
“There we go!” I can’t say much. The camera is looking right at me. We’ll see where that goes. Again, it was an incredible experience … and yeah, I can’t say.
This is not the first time that the actor has hinted at his return, more than half a year ago the actor gave a similar answer to Vanity Fair, he did not deny or confirm the rumors, but due to the secrecy of it all, he is most likely returning, at least as a cameo.
Keoghan confirmed that it would be exciting to return to the universe:
I can’t really say anything about that, my man, but it would be exciting, wouldn’t it? To see The Joker come to life again.”
