Deadpool & Wolverine, still playing in theaters worldwide and starring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, was one of the most anticipated movies of the year for many fans. The long-awaited on-screen team-up finally happened, and it left most fans thoroughly satisfied.

Even now, three weeks after its premiere, fans are still uncovering and tallying the numerous Easter Eggs packed into the film, which continues to achieve great success in theaters globally. As many iconic Marvel characters make cameo appearances, one of the surprising inclusions is Ryan Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively.

The Gossip Girl actress appears under the mask as Lady Deadpool (or Ladypool), one of the leaders of the Deadpool Corps. that Nova sent to stop the original Deadpool and Wolverine. For a while, fans speculated that Taylor Swift was under the costume, but it was actually Lively, who recently shared her thoughts on her brief but memorable appearance.

As you’re aware, the movie features several versions of Deadpool, including Headpool (voiced by Nathan Fillion), Cowboy Deadpool (voiced by Matthew McConaughey), and Blake Lively’s Ladypool. In a recent appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Blake Lively finally discussed her role, sharing the following insights:

“Well, that was like a neat little surprise. Rob Liefeld, who drew Ladypool…I had no idea but in 2010, he drew Lady Deadpool and at the same time, I was cast in the Green Lantern with my now husband, who was not my husband then. The timeline, I know it gets a little wonky. You need a conspiracy yarn to track it. But, basically, there was no association with Ryan; Ryan had no association with Deadpool.

He was supposed to make this movie. But, it was a pipe dream. It wasn’t ever really going to happen. Rob Liefeld drew Ladypool, and I guess he and his wife watched Gossip Girl? So, it was just kind of crazy how the world…you know, my husband and I got married and Deadpool was made. They were looking for a Ladypool, so, you know…”
