‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Leak Reveals Scrapped Hulk-Related Cameo

Captain America: Brave New World is the latest installment in the MCU, featuring Anthony Mackie in his first standalone film as Captain America. In this movie, he faces The Leader and, ultimately, Red Hulk, as he seeks to prove himself as more than just a worthy successor to Steve Rogers.

Without giving too much away, the film also lays the groundwork for the future of the MCU, particularly in setting up the new Avengers team and the introduction of Adamantium. During a press interview, it was confirmed that this will eventually tie into the Weapon X program and Wolverine.

If you’ve seen the movie, you probably noticed that ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ felt more like a sequel to ‘The Incredible Hulk,’ given its heavy focus on Hulk-related villains. Strangely, though, the film didn’t include the Hulk himself.

A few months ago, a leaked plot from a test screening surfaced online. For the most part, it turned out to be fairly accurate—except for one notable omission. A major Hulk-related character, Amadeus Cho, was seemingly absent from the final cut.

According to the leak at the time, Captain America, Falcon, and Ruth Bat-Seraph went to Stark Industries to find Sterns after running into him at Camp Echo One, where he used his mind-control abilities. They planned to get help from Amadeus Cho, a Stark Industries engineer. The deleted scene also mentioned Tony Stark’s widow, Pepper Potts, who now runs the company.

The leak accurately predicted that Bucky will cameo in the movie, so it’s clear that the test leak in question was legitimate at the time but Marvel for some reason decided to remove Amadeus Cho.

Right around the time that the leak started making rounds online, insiders reported that Logan Kim (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) was cast in the role.
