Despite ‘The Marvels’ Underperformance, Captain Marvel’s Future in the MCU Remains Bright—New Reports Reveal Key Developments Ahead!

Captain Marvel, one of the most powerful characters in the MCU, is an invaluable former member of the Avengers. Her latest movie however underperformed at the box office, leaving her future uncertain.

Brie Larson stated there are more stories to tell, hopefully hinting that she would like to reprise her role, although fans remained skeptical.

We know that with the ending of ‘The Marvels’ the purpose of Captain Marvel is clear cut, and some rumors pointed in the direction of her trying to save Monica Rambeau from that different reality in which she is currently stuck, and along the way discover the secrets of the Cosmic Bands.

Now in his most recent AMA, Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez was asked what’s next for Captain Marvel.

In the AMA, fans asked Alex Perez if Captain Marvel might appear in upcoming films like ‘Spider-Man 4,’ ‘Captain America 4,’ and ‘Shang-Chi 2,’ noting the connection between Brie Larson and Destin Daniel Cretton.

Alex responded that while she could appear in ‘Spider-Man 4,’ her next significant appearance is likely in ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ where she will play a major role. The fan then inquired if Captain Marvel would be a lead or a key Avenger in ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars,’ expressing hope that her role would not be diminished. Alex confirmed that Captain Marvel will indeed be one of the leading Avengers in both films.

I also need to mention that Alex stated that Sam Wilson’s Captain America will also be one of the co-leaders of the new Avengers.

Captain Marvel was always set up to eventually take over the leadership of the Avengers to an extent. She is powerful, with a military background and has good connections to other cosmic communities.

There’s no better person to lead the Avengers currently when the stakes seem higher than ever and when it’s not only Earth that is in danger but the whole Multiverse. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
