It’s been a long time since Batgirl had a solo series and now she’s back with a bang. The new ‘Batgirl’ line is out November 6, featuring writing by Tate Brombal, art by Takeshi Miyazawa, and coloring by Mike Spicer.
In this story, a group of assassins tries to kill Cassandra Cain, but her mother, Lady Shiva, comes to help. They need to put their past issues aside to survive. Cassandra’s journey is filled with martial arts action as she seeks truth, justice, and revenge. So pretty much expect everything from jaw-dropping action to exploring family issues.
“Cassandra Cain has long been my favorite Bat-Family character, so I am seriously honored to be taking on her story—in the year of her 25th anniversary, no less,” said Brombal.
“I’m so excited to be exploring the story of Cassandra Cain with Tate,” added artist Miyazawa. “She’s an intriguing part of the Bat-Family and I can’t wait to see all the twists and turns. I’m also honored to be drawing such a wonderful book as my first DC project!”
Batgirl #1 has a main cover by David Talaski and variant covers by Jeff Dekal, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau (available in card stock and foil).
