Charlie Cox Wants Daredevil to Suit Up in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ or ‘Doomsday’—’It’d be really cool for him to get that kind of upgrade’

Charlie Cox is ready to take Daredevil to the next level in the MCU. With Daredevil: Born Again on the way, fans are eager to see what’s next for the blind lawyer-turned-vigilante. Now, Cox himself has expressed interest in joining the Avengers in major upcoming films like Avengers: Secret Wars or Avengers: Doomsday.

The upcoming Avengers flicks brought back the Russo brothers to direct and, in a surprising twist, Robert Downey Jr. was recast as the villain Doctor Doom. With these major changes, fans are wondering if Daredevil could soon join the Avengers on the big screen.

Charlie Cox, who already made a brief appearance as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, thinks it’s more likely than ever. “I think it’s more possible than it’s ever been, yeah,” he said. “I would love to be in one of the Avengers films, or another Spider-Man, or something like that. For a couple of reasons. One, because over the years I have become a geeky fan of the character, and I weirdly, for the character’s sake, feel like it’d be really cool for him to get that kind of upgrade.”

Beyond his love for Daredevil, Cox admits there’s another reason he’d love to land a major MCU role. “I would also just love it in terms of what it would do for my chances of getting other movie roles,” he added.

Strangely enough, Daredevil was rumored to have a role in Avengers: Doomsday even before this interview. According to industry insiders, both Daredevil and Kingpin were originally set to appear in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 when the film was still planned as a grounded, street-level story. However, after the MCU decided to move away from Kang and introduce Doctor Doom instead, the studio shifted its focus, doubling down on the multiversal themes established in previous Spider-Man installments.

With Marvel making big moves and expanding its universe, it may only be a matter of time before Daredevil steps into the spotlight alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
