As one of the most popular MCU characters, Captain America has quite a few projects under his belt. There’s a movie currently in production revolving around Sam Wilson’s Captain America, bound to be released in 2025. And, if the latest rumors are to be trusted, Chris Evan’s Captain America will be pulled out of his retirement as well.

According to MyTimeToShineHello, Chris Evans will be returning to a limited series focused on Captain America returning Infinity Stones to their proper place in time.

The concept does sounds intriguing since the process we’ve seen in the movies was simply glossed over and rushed. The rumor is further supported by other recent rumors that Evans has apparently already signed an agreement to return to his former role.

Plenty of fans however assumed that this was related to the upcoming movie ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ Plenty of fans who don’t like the idea of Sam Wilson taking on the mantle of Captain America have been calling for Evans to return. However, you’re most likely aware that ‘Endgame’ really did not leave a lot of opportunities to “re-introduce” the character, save for using a variant that is.

After finishing his mission, Rogers decided to live out his life with Peggy Carter in an alternate timeline, rather than returning to 2023. They reunited, got married, and Rogers retired as Captain America, although he remained willing to assist when necessary in his new reality.

This limited show would make sense to appease quite the vocal part of the community, and it would make sense from a narrative point since the show would be taking place in the past before Steve Rogers decided to create the alternate timeline.
