Chris Evans Just Shut down Our Hopes of Seeing Him as Captain America in the MCU

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is MCU’s most recent release, and as you all figured out without seeing the movie, it brought back Wolverine “from the dead” after his perfect finale in ‘Logan.’

The means through which MCU managed to resurrect the character is through a variant – a concept often associated with Multiverse. Wolverine we’ve seen in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is not the same as we’ve seen in ‘Logan.’

We’ve recently learned that Feige was against Jackman returning at Wolverine, and he was also against Robert Downey Jr. returning as Iron Man, but in his recent interview, he stated that he is not against Iron Man and Captain America returning if “great care is given” to the characters and sensible story through which they can return.

Pair this with the rumored TV show that’s supposed to focus on Evans’ Captain America returning the Infinity Stones to their proper place in time, we were all but sure he’s returning to the MCU, and not as Human Torch.

As it turns out this isn’t quite the case. In his most recent statement to Entertainment Weekly, the actor says that he doesn’t think about returning as Captain America:

No. No, not really.

He did however give his full blessing to Sam Wilson’s Captain America who has a movie coming out soon, ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ which has its own set of controversy surrounding it.

I keep in touch with all those guys. We text all the time. I can’t wait to see that movie.

It’s understandable that Evans doesn’t want to steal Mackie’s thunder. Especially in light of how his version of character was received by the audiences, and a very loud minority that straight up refuses to see him as Cap in the MCU.

Even if Evans never really reprises his role in the MCU, we will always have that awesome ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ cameo. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
