Matt Reeves’ Batman Epic Crime Saga keeps expanding. The most recent installment is currently close to releasing its final episode. Of course, we’re talking about ‘The Penguin’ starring Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb and Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone or rather, Gigante as she is known in the last few episodes.
The show takes place about a week following the events of ‘The Batman Part I’ and sees Oz trying to fill the power vacuum following the death of Carmine Falcone in the movie.
Initially, fans were skeptical about the show, wondering whether Penguin was strong enough of a character to warrant his own spinoff show, especially taking into account his limited appearance in the movie. But as soon as the pilot episode aired, fans realized that they were dealing with “one of greatest shows of all time.”
Both Farrell and Milioti delivered top notch performance and the show has so far been at the top of the streaming charts for six weeks in a row, at least according to SambaTV.
The penultimate episode set the stage for a large clash between Oz and Sofia, and it’s likely that one of them won’t live to see the rest of the Batman saga come to fruition. But, is this really the case?
Recently we’ve covered rumors that Sofia will reportedly play a larger role in ‘The Batman Part II.’ Now Colin Farrell stated during his guest appearance on The Jess Cagle Show that he has heard that Oz will be in the second Batman installment as well. The actor however admitted that he has no idea what the movie will be about
I have no idea what the second film is gonna be. I heard Penguin features in it. I haven’t read it.
Farrell also commented on the potential character development Oz might see in the second movie:
There’s been so much pipe laid. It’d be interesting to see where it goes from here, you know? But he would be quite different.
