Could Cretton’s ‘Spider-Man 4’ Direction Signal a Major MCU Team-Up?

What if Tobey and Andrew aren’t the only superheroes who might cross paths with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the future? With Destin Daniel Cretton set to direct Spider-Man 4, the MCU has the chance to assemble a compelling new lineup of heroes!

You might already know that Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Shang-Chi, has been confirmed to direct Spider-Man 4, with production expected to start in early 2025. Given the dramatic ending of No Way Home, Peter Parker is in a tough spot, and it’s uncertain how Marvel will address his situation in the new film.

While many fans are speculating about the multiversal aspects of the movie and the potential return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Cretton’s involvement could hint at a different kind of MCU team-up.

Have you heard of the Knights? Marvel enthusiasts might be familiar with them, but for those who aren’t, the Knights are a lesser-known superhero group from the comics that includes Spider-Man, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, Shang-Chi, Daredevil, and Iron Fist.

We know Doctor Strange and Spider-Man have already crossed paths, and Marvel is planning to connect Daredevil (who has already appeared in a Spider-Man movie) with other MCU heroes, including Moon Knight. While Iron Fist hasn’t been integrated into the MCU yet, Cretton’s direction of Shang-Chi suggests there’s potential for a fascinating crossover.

Connecting these dots, it’s possible that Spider-Man 4 could feature a gathering of these superheroes, which would be exciting. Although balancing so many characters might be challenging, it’s an intriguing possibility that many fans would love to see.
