Could THAT Mysterious Castle in ‘Agatha All Along’ Be a Dr. Doom Tease?

‘Agatha All Along’ is the upcoming MCU installment that’s going to put a bit more emphasis on witchcraft. The show will focus on Agatha Harkness after she manages to escape her imprisonment at the hands of the Scarlet Witch. But the twist is, that Agatha will return powerless, and she will have to gather a coven of witches to thread the Witches Road and reclaim her powers.

The Witches’ Road is a mystical and dangerous path that only practitioners of magic in Marvel comics (and now MCU) can access. The Witches’ Road is primarily used for travel between different magical realms and for accessing hidden or powerful magical energies. Due to its hidden dangers and monstrous things that lurk in the shadows, the pathway has been described as a “death wish” accurately.

The Witches Road has been featured extensively in the promos for the show, and one promo seemingly brought as a nod toward Doctor Doom, who is also set to appear in the MCU played by Robert Downey Jr.

In one of the scenes, we can see Agatha and “the Teen” gazing upon what seems like an ominous castle.

It looks like your generic fantasy castle, but it also sort of looks like Castle Doom. Castle Doom is a medieval palace that serves as the residence of Doctor Doom, the self-styled ruler of the Eastern European nation of Latveria. Originally known as Castle Sabbat, it was the royal palace of Hassenstadt and a seat of power for centuries.

In 1941, the castle’s owner, Baron Sabbat, was forced by Nazi Baron Strucker to use the castle for constructing a Sturmfänger machine, which was later destroyed by time-traveling members of X-Force. Following this, rumors of ghosts in the castle circulated for years. Baron Sabbat eventually became King Vladimir of Latveria and moved to a grander castle in the capital city, Doomstadt.

As you can see, since Latveria has its history steeped in magic, it’s quite possible that the Witches Road somehow led the duo to explore Castle Doom or rather a version of it from some kind of alternate dimension.

This might very well be our first MCU nod toward the existence of Doom. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
