Crazy Theory Suggests RDJ’s Dr. Doom Will Get Killed by a “Real” Dr. Doom Played by a Fan-Favorite Actor

A couple of weeks back during this year’s SDCC, it was announced that ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ is being retitled ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ Robert Downey Jr. will be playing Doctor Doom, one of Marvel’s most popular and vicious villains.

The announcement was met with mixed reactions, partially due to some of the fans wanting Kang’s story to continue, and due to RDJ being inseparable from his MCU identity as Iron Man.

It’s clear that Feige won’t jeopardize Iron Man’s special moment, as you know the character died during the events of ‘Endgame’ and it’s still, a couple of phases later, the most emotional moment in the franchise. Nothing has been confirmed so far but insider reports mostly claim that Doom will make his first appearance in ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ and that Doctor Doom won’t be connected to Iron Man at all.

Now new fan theory states that RDJ’s Doctor Doom is not THE DOOM that fans are waiting for, but rather a variant that will be eliminated eventually, by a real Doctor Doom, played by a different actor. The theory was posted on Reddit and you can read it by following this link.

Essentially what the fan claims is the following: The theory argues that Marvel’s casting choices have historically been successful, even when fans were initially skeptical. They suggest that Marvel recognizes how important Doctor Doom is, considering his role as a major villain and inspiration for characters like Darth Vader. This implies that Marvel is meticulously planning Doom’s introduction and it won’t work just a bandaid for fans to forget about Kang (and Majors.)

The theory states that Marvel might cast a well-known actor (like Robert Downey Jr.) in a role that appears to be Doctor Doom, but is actually a decoy or variant. This faux-Doom could serve as a major villain in an upcoming film, where he will play a significant role in setting up events for ‘Secret Wars’ or Battleworld.

As audiences grow accustomed to this familiar face as Doom, the real Doctor Doom will appear and defeat the faux-Doom in a dramatic and shocking way. This would create a powerful contrast and establish the true Doom as an even more dangerous villain.

The comments also recommended Cillian Murphy as the potential “real” Doctor Doom as the actor has been fan-cast in the role for years up to this point.
