Crispin Glover Becomes Nightmare Fuel as Tommy Taffy in ‘The Third Parent’ Movie

Bleecker Street has secured the North American distribution rights for the upcoming horror film The Third Parent. The movie, produced by Walters Media Group, features a star-studded cast, including Rob Lowe, Crispin Glover, and Roselyn Sanchez. A nationwide theatrical release is in the works.

This film marks the directorial debut of David Michaels, who also wrote the screenplay. The Third Parent is based on a popular online creepypasta story by Elias Witherow. The plot takes place during a Fourth of July celebration when a sinister figure known as Tommy Taffy infiltrates a quiet suburban neighborhood. Disguising himself as a normal person, he imposes strict control over an unsuspecting family, leading to terrifying consequences.

Bleecker Street executives Andrew Karpen and Kent Sanderson expressed their excitement about the film, stating, “Crispin Glover’s portrayal of Tommy Taffy will introduce audiences to a new horror icon. With David’s unique vision, combined with the incredible talents of Rob Lowe and Roselyn Sanchez, we believe this movie will deliver a chilling and unforgettable experience in theaters.”

Producer Gary Michael Walters, known for his work on Whiplash and Nightcrawler, shared his enthusiasm about working with Bleecker Street. “I’m thrilled to be part of their growing presence in the horror genre. Andrew and Kent have been incredibly supportive of this project.”

The Third Parent is produced by Walters for Walters Media, which retains the rights to the intellectual property. Rob Lowe is also involved as a producer, alongside Spencer Young of Enfant Terrible and Jonathan Halperyn and Daniel Kresmery of Hero Squared. Executive producers include Jack Roberts for Lesnik Entertainment, Drake Dowd and Kristen Gilot-Dowd for Dowd Films, and Karpen and Sanderson for Bleecker Street.

Rob Lowe, known for his roles in The West Wing, Parks and Recreation, and 9-1-1: Lone Star, brings a wealth of experience to the project. Crispin Glover, famous for Back to the Future and River’s Edge, steps into the role of the menacing Tommy Taffy. Roselyn Sanchez, known for Fantasy Island and Devious Maids, also adds her talent to the film.
