‘Daredevil’ #20 Preview: Matt Will Wear His Black Armor Once Again

Matt Murdock is back, and he’s suiting up in his famous Black Armor to take on a dangerous new foe in the next chapter of Daredevil (2023). This upcoming arc, crafted by writer Saladin Ahmed and artist José Luis Soares, kicks off with issue #20, hitting comic shops on April 9.

After the explosive chaos that closed out the last issue, Hell’s Kitchen needs its protector more than ever, and Daredevil is stepping up to answer the call.

This isn’t the first time fans have seen the Black Armor. It originally appeared in the 1990s during D.G. Chichester’s run on the series, a period that delivered big moments like the “Last Rites” storyline and brought Elektra back into Matt’s world. Now, the armor returns as Murdock prepares to face a mysterious threat lurking in the city’s shadows.

The preview for Daredevil #20 gives a taste of what’s coming. Matt’s nights are restless, plagued by a strange figure—a Daredemon—hunting a panicked Bullseye in his dreams.

When he snaps awake, he’s straight to work, perched high above the streets, using his radar sense to track trouble. Later, he hits a bar to dig for answers, and it doesn’t take long before fists fly and noses break. Something big is brewing, and Daredevil’s ready to meet it head-on.
