This year’s D23 was full of announcements, and one of the biggest showcased projects was a teaser trailer for ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ The teaser trailer has revealed some interesting plot points and characters that we can expect in the upcoming first season. First, now it’s officially been confirmed that Muse will be one of the villains in the series. White Tiger will also make an appearance confirming the speculation that started with set leaks, and Bullseye will start the season in jail.

It appears that Matt Murdock and Kingpin will have some kind of an understanding but it will presumably fall through.

One thing that set footage also confirmed is the fact that Daredevil has a new suit in the upcoming show, but the latest leaked footage also shows that he might get one more addition to his wardrobe – a black suit.

Now Daredevil is most associated with red color but he did have not one but three black suits in the comics. His first makeshift suit was black of course, but that can be hardly called a superhero costume. In the ‘Shadowland’ crossover (2010), after taking control of the Hand, Daredevil became corrupted by the cult’s patron demon, the Beast. Under the Beast’s influence, Daredevil led the Hand in more extreme crime-fighting, turning Hell’s Kitchen into a mystical prison and adopting an all-black costume with a red logo and eyes.

After the Beast was purged from his soul, Daredevil abandoned the dark costume and returned to his original attire following a journey of self-discovery. The third black suit was actually a mix of the Shadowland suit and his traditional suit keeping the main Shadowland theme going but adopting red boots, gloves, escrima sticks, and a logo. For years, Daredevil’s black suit was his standard look until he returned to his classic red costume in 2018.

So far in the MCU, we’ve seen Daredevil wearing his makeshift suit, standard variations of his red suit and golden-red suit in ‘She-Hulk.’ So we’re pretty excited about getting the proper black suit in the show as well.

The show is set to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025. The series will have 18 episodes, split into two halves of nine episodes each, and will be part of Phase Five of the MCU.
