If you’ve been following the development of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ you likely know that it’s been difficult, to say the least. The development of the show began in 2022, the original developers of the reboot series for Disney+ were Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who were attached as head writers and executive producers.

Kevin Feige and Chris Gary also served as producers during the early stages of its development. The show then used the SAG-AFTRA strike to reassess its current state and that’s when the trouble began.

It faced a major overhaul after executives deemed the original creative direction, led by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, to be a poor fit, with significant tonal differences from the Netflix series and a slow introduction of Daredevil in costume.

The original writers and directors were replaced, with ‘Punisher’ writer Dario Scardapane hired as showrunner and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead brought on as directors. The series shifted to a darker, serialized tone closer to the Netflix version, retaining some pre-strike footage while adding new scenes.

Even before the show premiered we’ve heard that a lot of changes took place, and now industry insider MyTimeToShine brought to light some concrete examples and changes.

According to insider after a new showrunner took over, Initially, the first six episodes were planned and filmed, but the order was rearranged, making them episodes 2-7 instead. Some scenes were reshot to improve or clarify certain details, such as the scenes with Vanessa, where the character was recast with Ayelet Zurer, but the storyline remained the same.

A key moment that was altered was White Tiger’s death. In the original version, he was killed by a dirty cop, but the Punisher symbol on the cop’s clothes was not shown until later. In the revised version, the symbol was made clear in the scene, linking it directly to the Punisher.

Another major change was regarding Foggy’s death. Initially, Foggy was supposed to die off-screen, killed by a dirty cop. However, this was removed, and a new pilot episode was created. In this new version, Foggy’s death was made more dramatic, happening at the hands of the villain Bullseye, and there was additional background provided, such as Matt meeting Heather Glenn and Fisk running for mayor.

Karen, who wasn’t mentioned at all in the original version, was reintroduced into the story. Additionally, Bullseye was also added, even though he was not part of the original plan.

Finally, new episodes (episode 8 and episode 9, the season finale) were created, featuring the returns of Karen, the Punisher, and Bullseye, giving the show a new direction and excitement.

Keep in mind that MyTimeToShine has a mixed track record when it comes to the accuracy of leaks and scoops, and this information was not confirmed by official sources. However, the insider was correct regarding some past details in the past specifically related to Born Again.
