‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Lands an 83%—A Comeback or a Letdown?
The first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again have officially dropped. This highly anticipated revival of Netflix’s Daredevil series delivers some shocking—yet not entirely surprising—moments for those who followed the leaks. One thing is clear: we’re in for a thrilling and dangerous power struggle in NYC.
So far, audience reactions have been stellar, with the show debuting at an impressive 95% approval rating. Critics, however, have been less generous, giving it an 83%—the second-lowest score for a Daredevil season.
Negative reviews for Daredevil: Born Again may be few, but critics have pointed out some notable issues. Many found the show disappointing, citing messy writing and weak storytelling. While later episodes showcase some solid action and filmmaking, the earlier ones are poorly executed. The show brings back elements fans loved but struggles with its new direction, often feeling like a watered-down version of the original. Overall, it suffers from pacing problems, underdeveloped themes, and ultimately fails to meet expectations.
The writing of Daredevil: Born Again is weird (…) There are some flickers of good action direction and filmmaking after the 6th episode; everything before that is outright garbage (…) The cast (…) deserves better.

But as Daredevil: Born Again brings much of what fans loved from the original run, it also veers in new directions that, for better or worse, don’t always stick the landing.

Born Again simply doesn’t work as a continuation of the Marvel television project or an entry point for anyone new.
Nicholas Quah – New York Magazine/Vulture
It would be stronger if it was either a typically meandering traditional 22 episode season, or a tight six-part miniseries. Instead it’s in-between, as oversized as the comic book version of the Kingpin.

This is just the taste of the negative reviews. I don’t personally agree with them at all, and yo can let us know in the comments whether you agree with them.
As far as the RT scores for the Netflix show go… the first season of Daredevil received widespread acclaim, earning a 99% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and praise for its faithfulness to the source material, strong storytelling, and high production quality.
Season two saw a drop to 81%, with critics appreciating the action but feeling that the new villains lacked the impact of Wilson Fisk. The third season rebounded with a 97% rating, praised for its thrilling storytelling and the return of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, solidifying it as one of the strongest entries in the series.
