‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Writer Almost Revealed Insane MCU Secret to Vincent D’Onofrio: “What is going on?”

For our readers, Vincent D’Onofrio is best known as the actor who portrayed Kingpin in Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ and MCU’s ‘Echo.’ The fans are looking forward to his inclusion in the upcoming ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ and all the future storylines he will take part in.

A lot has been teased for Kingpin in the last year, and due to the complexities of his character and his acting, we can easily see him becoming one of the most menacing villains in the MCU despite not having superpowers.

At New York Comic Con 2024, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio participated in an interview with Screen Rant. The topic quickly shifted to the potential future storylines in store for Daredevil and Kingpin.

Vincent D’Onofrio revealed that besides their own arcs, the studio rarely, almost never, reveals any details outside of their own arcs. This is likely to minimize the number of spoilers involved.

When asked if he could envision himself portraying a Thanos-like villain for street-level heroes such as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Spider-Man, Vincent D’Onofrio said he is all for the idea, but also revealed that one of the ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ writers almost spoiled a major MCU secret to him:

Yeah, I mean all of them. Bring them on. It’s interesting – listening to Charlie’s answers, he’s so spot on. One of the most interesting things about being in the MCU with these characters is we know so little about what the plan is.

I know that might sound strange to people, but it’s really true. Just the other day, we were in a conversation with our writers, and one of them slipped and said something, and one of the bosses was on the Zoom.

I was like, “What?” [laughs] and they were both like, “What?” This particular boss who cares for the show a lot actually was like, “Nope, can’t talk about that now.” [I am like] “Can’t talk about what? What is going on.”

If you want to know immediately, could it seem like something that had to do with something beyond our show? I don’t know. I literally have no idea.

We have no idea what’s in store for Kingpin in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ except for what set leaks have shown us. We know that Kingpin will become the Mayor, and the villain will be involved with an anti-vigilante task force that will attempt to root out any form of vigilantism in New York’s streets.

Before Downey was announced as MCU’s Doom, Kingpin was also reportedly set to be one of the villains in ‘Spider-Man 4,’ as the upcoming Spider-Man flick was set to be a street-level story.
