David Arquette, known for his iconic role in the Scream series, is returning to the slasher genre in Kill Or Be Killed. He’s joined by Alisha Newton, who’s been making waves with her role in Heartland.

Written by Nick Zigler, known for his work on Chucky and Purge TV series, and directed by David Straiton, who’s worked on Narcos, the film promises an exciting mix of tension and suspense. The film also features producers from Other Animal Entertainment, who previously worked on Poor Agnes.

Producer Ryan Keller mentions that the movie captures the essence of classic summer slashers while bringing a fresh twist that feels relevant to today’s world. The viral nature of the killer’s game is a unique and timely element, while the constant struggle for survival is something everyone can relate to.

Director Straiton notes that summer slashers mix freedom with fear, and this film hopes to deliver an unpredictable thrill for viewers. The team also includes cinematographer Yaron Levy, known for Saw, and production designer Peter Bohdal, who worked on Beacon 23. Marketing for the film is being handled by Cousin Jones, who has worked on major campaigns for films like 28 Days Later and IT.

Arquette, a veteran of horror films, most recently starred in the western The Unholy Trinity alongside Pierce Brosnan and Samuel L. Jackson. Newton, on the other hand, is becoming a rising star with roles in Netflix’s My Life with the Walter Boys and Heartland.

The film centers on Dani (played by Newton) and her friends who are celebrating their graduation. Their fun summer plans take a horrifying turn after a brutal murder is discovered on their high school’s football field.

The victim’s body is mutilated in a shocking way, and a red envelope pinned to it holds a yearbook photo along with the chilling message: ‘Kill or Be Killed.’ As more bodies pile up, Dani and her friends are thrust into a deadly game that spreads beyond their small town, quickly going viral.
