A few days ago, Jason Momoa confirmed he will play Lobo in the DCU. His first appearance is expected to be in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and he teased it by posting a picture of himself reading the script with a cigar.

There have been rumors for a while that Momoa would stay in the DC universe, especially since he’s been linked to Lobo due to his physical similarity to the character and his long-time interest in playing him.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is in development and will start production in early 2025. It will be the second movie in production and the second DCU movie to be released, as confirmed by James Gunn.

Momoa received a lot of positive reactions, including one from David Leitch. Leitch commented that he would love to direct a solo Lobo movie in the DC Universe and believes Jason Momoa is the perfect actor for the role.

“Lobo solo movie? I’m in, Jason Momoa! It’s a story we were born to tell..this character is all you”

David Leitch is famous for directing action films like John Wick (as co-director) and Atomic Blonde. He also directed Deadpool 2 and Bullet Train, mixing action with humor. Leitch has worked on movies like Captain America: Civil War and The Wolverine, so he knows the superhero genre well.

This isn’t the first time Leitch has shown interest in directing a Lobo movie, so hopefully, James Gunn is paying attention!
