Villain-focused films aren’t new for DC. The success of Joker, a cultural phenomenon, showed that audiences are drawn to darker, more introspective tales.

Given this success, along with The Penguin, it’s no surprise that DC is leaning into this approach.

Whether these films will feature familiar villains like Lex Luthor or lesser-known characters from DC’s vast roster remains to be seen.
