DC Studios’ ‘The Penguin’ Lands On the List of Most Pirated Shows of 2024

House of the Dragon is the most-pirated TV show of 2024 on torrent sites, reclaiming the top spot from last year’s leader, The Last of Us. Amazon’s The Boys ranks second, while Disney’s Shōgun is the highest new entry on the list.
It’s no surprise House of the Dragon is back on top, given the long-standing popularity of Game of Thrones. After a dragon-free year that saw The Last of Us claim the crown, the prequel has returned to dominate in 2024, easily surpassing competitors like Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
The Tolkien-inspired Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power didn’t make the top 10, suggesting its viewership might have been overstated by official sources.
Amazon held strong with The Boys in second place, while Disney’s Shōgun secured third. Other top 10 entries, like Netflix’s Arcane, highlight the dominance of major streaming platforms.
A standout addition to the list is Max’s The Penguin, landing fifth. Part of Matt Reeves’ Batman Crime Saga, the show was a huge success, breaking several streaming records.
Amazon’s Fallout and Reacher remain fan favorites, with Apple TV+’s Silo and Max’s Dune: Prophecy making waves as newcomers. Paramount+’s Halo rounds out the list with its loyal following.
It’s important to note that this ranking only covers BitTorrent downloads, a small part of the piracy scene, as most viewers now rely on streaming sites that don’t share data.
