DC vs. Marvel Crossover Seems More Likely Following Feige’s Recent Comments: “we’ve been talking too long”

Crossovers are nothing new when it comes to superhero media, some of the best movies in both Marvel and DC cinematic universe were built on top of crossovers. But what if MCU decided to crossover with the newly-established DCU? It happened in the comics, and you either love these types of crossovers or you hate them.

But the thing is more complicated when it comes to movies. Feige recently commented for Collider that the DC and Marvel crossover was already talked about in the context of MCU and DCU.

MCU boss reveals that we should never say never, he has no idea how he would pull it off but it’s possible, it’s definitely not something that should be permanently written off:

I mean, I think about it occasionally, like any fan would think about it. I don’t know when in the heck that would ever happen, or how that would happen. But we’ve been talking too long for me to go, ‘Never! We’d never be able to do that.’ We’ll never say never, but no, no plans.

Fiege is correct in that assumption that it’s difficult to wrap our minds around such a crossover, the MCU already seems like a bloated and complicated mess. And we don’t want to add even more confusion to it right? Except that apparently, Gunn and Feige have been discussing this crossover at least as far back as a year ago. Approximately when Gunn took over the reins of DC Studio, as Gunn revealed for Empire.

I think we have to establish what we’re doing [at DC] first. I would be lying to say that we haven’t discussed it. But all discussions have been very, very light and fun.”

Gunn is also correct that we can’t exactly plan such drastic events without having a single released DCU project yet, and it’s no wonder that Feige has been discussing this with Gunn and not Snyder since Gunn’s vision is more likely better suited for the MCU than Snyder’s brooding themes.

In any case, now fans know where they stand. The crossover is still far away, but it’s not impossible. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
