‘Deadpool 3‘, one of the most anticipated MCU movies at this moment, recently started production. Although we’re not too happy with the news that the title star Ryan Reynolds legally isn’t allowed to improvise his lines as long as the WGA strike is ongoing, there might be some good news to cover that up.
‘Deadpool 3’ was always highly anticipated because of several reasons; the great success of two previous ‘Deadpool movies,’ Deadpool’s joining the MCU with this next one, and it will also be the first MCU project that will be rated R, as Kevin Feige confirmed. But, after Ryan Reynolds officially announced that Hugh Jackman would return as the Wolverine, the anticipation for ‘Deadpool 3’ immediately touched the sky.
We can reportedly expect even more big returns in the Deadpool threequel!
According to @CanWeGetToast (via Deadpool Updates), three members of the original X-Men cast — Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, and James Marsden — will return in ‘Deadpool 3!’ All three of them debuted in Fox’s ‘X-Men’ franchise in the original movie in 2000; Halle Berry played Ororo Munroe, aka Storm, Famke Janssen played Dr. Jean Grey, and James Marsden played Scott Summers, aka Cyclops.
Berry, Janssen, and Marsden were part of the principal cast in the original ‘X-Men’ trilogy that began in 2000 and concluded in 2006 with ‘X-Men: The Last Stand.’ They reprised the role one more time in 2014’s ‘X-Men: Days of the Future Past,’ after which they were replaced by Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, and Tye Sheridan, who played younger versions of them in prequel movies.
Apart from the main star Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, ‘Deadpool 3′ will also see the return of Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Briann’a Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapičić, and Rob Delaney, who are all reprising their roles from Deadpool 2.’ Emma Corrin has been cast in an undisclosed villain role.
Ryan Reynolds first debuted as the Merc with a Mouth in 2009’s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine,’ playing the incarnation of the character even he wants to forget about. In 2016, he finally got a chance to play true Deadpool. The sequel was released in 2018, and the development of the third movie was put on hold due to Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019, but now Deadpool is ready to return, and we couldn’t be more excited about it.
Shawn Levy, who directed Ryan Reynolds-led movies ‘Free Guy’ and ‘The Adam Project,’ has been hired to direct the movie from a script he wrote with Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, and Reynolds. Intended to be the 37th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ‘Deadpool 3’ is set to be released on November 8, 2024.
