In an exciting update from Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige shared major plans for Deadpool and Wolverine, two of the franchise’s most popular characters.
Speaking with Omelete, Feige explained that the studio is eager to find creative ways to bring these iconic characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Feige humorously mentioned that the approach for Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds, and Wolverine, portrayed by Hugh Jackman, will focus on their roles in upcoming projects. “We’re always looking for where to fit them in and how quickly we can do it,” he remarked.
Deadpool & Wolverine offered an exciting storyline where the two iconic characters find themselves in a sort of Marvel hero purgatory -the Void which was previously introduced during the ‘Loki’ series.
They team up with other fan-favorite heroes, including Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Blade (Wesley Snipes), X-23 (Dafne Keen), and Gambit (Channing Tatum), to face the villainous Cassandra Nova, played by Emma Corrin.
The film has already made waves at the box office, grossing over $1.3 billion globally. Fans won’t have to wait long to watch it at home, as Deadpool & Wolverine will be available to stream on Disney+ starting November 12.
With a mix of action and camaraderie among some of Marvel’s most beloved characters, the film promises to be an exciting addition to the MCU’s growing universe.
