New ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Plot Reveal Explains Why the TVA Needs Him & When the Movie Takes Place

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is so far the most anticipated movie this summer, and the one that according to early projections has a good chance at breaking records at the box office.

So far two trailers have been released and we’ve seen plenty of cameos and variants, but regarding the plot little is known. We know that the TVA kidnaps Deadpool and that he will attempt to talk Wolverine into saving the current reality.

Now Total Film, in their upcoming issue covering the movie reveals that ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ takes place six years after the events of ‘Deadpool 2.’ If you forgot, at the end of ‘Deadpool 2’ Wade steals Cable’s time-traveling machine and fixes several things “wrong” with his timeline. First and foremost he stops Vanessa from ever getting killed, which was a major drive for most of his decisions in the sequel.

Now six years after that, Vanessa apparently has a new boyfriend, with Deadpool working as a used car salesman. This isn’t a good gig for him so he is forced to deal Blind Al’s heart medication to make some extra money on the side and pay rent.

What we’ve seen in the trailer so far showcases that Deadpool will be taken during his birthday party, and Total Film also revealed that the TVA needs Deadpool to protect the sacred timeline.

In the second trailer we’ve also learned that Wolverine did something that directly or indirectly led to the destruction of his own timeline which makes him reviled wherever he goes. It’s unknown whether that cataclysmic event is connected to Cassandra Nova and the death of X-Men, but everything so far points in that direction.
