Dean Lorey on ‘Harley Quinn’ Season 6 Tease: “Very Different” and “Unexpected,” Says Co-Creator!

Fans of Harley Quinn on Max have been eagerly awaiting news about a possible Season 6, and co-creator Dean Lorey has finally given an exciting update.
Season 5 has already taken the show in a bold new direction. Instead of causing chaos in Gotham, Harley and Poison Ivy have found themselves in Metropolis, a city known for its perfection and towering skyscrapers. This shift in setting has changed the dynamic of the series, throwing the anti-heroes into unfamiliar territory.
On top of that, the season’s main villain, Brainiac, is one of the biggest threats they’ve ever faced. With such massive changes already in play, many fans are wondering—where could the show go next?
While Harley Quinn hasn’t been officially renewed for a sixth season yet, Lorey confirmed that discussions are already happening behind the scenes.
In an interview, Lorey hinted at what’s in store if the show gets the green light. “We have been talking about if we get a Season 6—and we all certainly hope we do—what that might look like. And I think internally, we’re all really excited about what that season would be. And it’s something very different, and I think unexpected.”
During the conversation it was suggested that Harley Quinn could explore the Green Lantern universe, maybe even giving Harley a power ring and throwing her into DC’s Blackest Night storyline.
Lorey responded, “We haven’t actually talked about that, and we could do it because, you know, the Harley-Verse is separate from the Canonverse, and we do have, sort of, you know, carte blanche to do what we want. But no, we haven’t talked about that yet...”
Although the Green Lantern Corps might not be in the cards just yet, Lorey joked that Harley might just need a vacation instead: “Maybe what she really needs to do is just go to Daytona Beach.”
For now, fans will have to wait and see if Harley Quinn gets a Season 6 renewal. But one thing is clear—if it happens, it’s going to take the show in a surprising new direction.
Until then, viewers can enjoy Season 5 as Harley and Ivy continue to navigate their new lives in Metropolis.
