Denzel Washington and The Black Priests Teased for ‘Doctor Strange 3’ According to Reports

Based on everything we’ve heard in recent months, ‘Doctor Strange 3’ is currently in development at Marvel Studios. The latest rumors suggest that Sam Raimi will return as director, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Wong expected to reprise their roles.

The recent report brought to us by Production Weekly teases some amazing things for the upcoming threequel, and some notable names being added to the cast list.

According to Production Weekly, some previous rumors that Doctor Strange is going to prove vital for the destiny of the Multiverse will prove to be true. Doctor Strange has been sought by a multiversal organization called the Black Priests, of which Clea (played by Charlize Theron) is a member.

The headquarters of the Black Priests is located in the Nothing Space of Destroyed Universes, a realm that exists between the remnants of two dead universes caused by an incursion.

Strange is summoned by the Black Priests, who operate within the multiverse and it’s revealed that the multiverse is about to be destroyed, the event can be linked to a series of incursions.

The most recent disruption was triggered by Doctor Strange himself, which aligns with the sequel’s exploration of his unintentional role as a potential threat to the stability of the multiverse, a concept briefly touched upon in the previous film.

Additionally, Denzel Washington is mentioned for the role of Dormammu.

This brief Production Weekly aligned with some past rumors. First, Theron’s Clea will play a larger role in the third installment, and Dormammu, Strange’s most notable villain in the MCU will be back.

This isn’t surprising considering that Clea, who we met in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is really Dormammu’s niece in the comics. There’s also that mysterious role that Bruce Campbell teased in his latest interview.

As far as technical information goes, Feige and D’Esposito are listed as producers, naturally with Sam Raimi listed as the director.

It seems that Strange and Doctor Doom will prove to be vital for the survival (or death) of the Multiverse, and this event might even lead to the establishment of the Illuminati on Earth-616.
