‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Sequel Set for June 2025 Premiere, with Exciting New Details Reportedly Revealed
Dexter is a crime drama about Dexter Morgan, a forensic expert who secretly acts as a vigilante serial killer. The show ran from 2006 to 2013 and gained a big fanbase for its suspense and moral conflicts.
A spinoff, Dexter: New Blood, aired in 2021, continuing Dexter’s story years later. Two more spinoffs are on the way: Dexter: Original Sin, releasing on December 15, and Dexter: Resurrection, announced in July at San Diego Comic-Con. Michael C. Hall will return as Dexter in Resurrection, but details about the show are still limited, with a few updates recently revealed.
Clyde Phillips recently confirmed that the new show will premiere in June 2025, with filming starting in early January.
Notable industry insider Daniel Richtman claims in his paid newsletter that the show will be set in New York City, with Peter Dinklage playing the villain. Uma Thurman has reportedly been offered the role of Charley, a fixer working for him. However, the details about the setting, Dinklage, and Thurman remain unconfirmed.
At San Diego Comic-Con, Michael C. Hall and Clyde Phillips officially announced that Hall would return as Dexter Morgan in Dexter: Resurrection. While Dexter was thought to have died at Harrison’s hands in the original series, Phillips had previously stated, “Dexter is dead. I wouldn’t do that to the audience. It would be dishonest.”
When asked about Dexter’s return, Michael C. Hall told Variety, “I don’t know what I am authorized to say other than it’s really cold out there,” suggesting that the cold might have saved his character. Fans are thrilled to see Hall back as Dexter.
In addition, Hall will narrate as Dexter in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin, offering a unique way to keep him connected to the story he originally brought to life.
Daniel Richtman also shared an exciting rumor that Harry, Dexter Morgan’s adoptive father and a former Miami police officer, will also appear on the show, along with Dexter’s son, Harrison.
