‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is one of the most eagerly awaited releases in the MCU. The movie is set to come out on July 25, 2025, and we’ve already had a sneak peeks from the set that promise exciting comic-accurate experience.

The film will take place in an alternate reality and will introduce the Fantastic Four it’s reportedly bound to feature some of their most famous villains.

The latest news regarding the movie is related to its title. ‘First Steps’ was added to the title during SDCC when we had the opportunity to see an exclusive clip featuring the team as well as hear the score composed by Michael Giacchino.

Fan’s weren’t exactly hyped about the title, but now it seems that the title has been secret changed and it’s a massive improvement.

The source of this rumor is one of the most notable (and accurate) rumor subreddits MarvelStudiosSpoilers. It seems that a crew member added a new subtitle for the movie to the LinkedIn profile ” – “Herbie – Fantastic Four: First Contact”.

The Cosmic Circus reported that a crew member working on ‘Fantastic Four: First Contact’ had listed “Herbie” on their LinkedIn profile. At first, it seemed like a mistake. However, after the news spread, the crew member removed Herbie’s name and kept the title, suggesting it might not have been an error.

Although it’s just a one-word change from the previous title, it really makes a difference, especially for Star Trek fans. ‘First Contact’ is the name of a popular Star Trek movie from 1996, and Kevin Feige has often stated how much he loves ‘Star Trek.’

Additionally, Matt Shakman was set to direct ‘Star Trek 4’ before Marvel offered him the ‘Fantastic Four’ project.

It’s unlikely that the title change is a simple mistake, and it’s reasonable to believe this will be the final title. It’s certainly better than the ‘First Steps’ subtitle. The old subtitle kind of implied that the team is just starting out, when it was confirmed by several sourced that the Fantastic Four will already be an established team (and celebrities) in their native reality.
