‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ is an upcoming TV show created for Disney+ and a part of a Star Wars franchise. The show has been discussed since 2019, the premiere of ‘The Rise of the Skywalker’ when Leslye Headland expressed interest in the franchise as a massive fan.

‘The Acolyte’ is the first live-action TV show to focus on the High Republic Era, and the second overall. The show officially takes place during the latter portion of the High Republic Era 100 years before the events of ‘Episode I: The Phantom Menace’ and it’s one part of the Star Wars greater timeline that hasn’t been discussed all that much on-screen. This was known as the Golden Age of the Jedi because the institution was at the height of its power.

Despite the show dealing with relatively unexplored material, all promotional materials so far have been met with mixed reviews at best. Fans criticized that the show is once again female-focused, some details regarding the timeline and the presence of Sith weren’t all that well-received and the latest scandal revolved around the inclusion of lightwhip into the show.

There’s also that tiny blunder that unfortunately revealed the big twist related to the villain through subtitles. Still, Disney is very confident that the show will land well with the fans. As you know, all shows & movies about to be released have a review embargo, meaning that you cannot publicly discuss whether something is good or bad if you are a part of the media. When the review embargo is lifted it means that you are free to share your thoughts.

The earlier the embargo is lifted, the more positive of a sign that is, meaning that the studio has great confidence in the project.

We are pleased to announce that ‘The Acolyte’ review & social embargo will be lifted relatively early. A social embargo will be lifted on May 30, and the review embargo will be lifted on June 4.

Even though the review embargo is lifted on the release date, this is a standard practice, social embargo is the one that counts because it means that they want people talking about it.

‘Andor’ and ‘Ahsoka’ had similar timelines, and both shows turned out to be great.
