Doctor Doom’s and Reed Richards’ MCU Dynamic Will Be Nothing Like in the Comics According to Recent Reports

Reed Richards and Doctor Doom are two of the most popular rivals in Marvel Comics. Both of them are genius-level intellects and fierce competitors. Their rivalry is often characterized by their differing ideologies—Reed believes in using science for the betterment of humanity, while Doom is more power-driven and seeks control.
Even though there are instances where they worked together, more often than not they have found themselves on opposite sides. Doctor Doom’s obsession with defeating Reed Richards goes beyond mere rivalry; it is deeply personal.
With the introduction of Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) in the MCU, fans were hoping to see some of that dynamic translate to the cinematic universe.
If Alex Perez, a notable industry insider is to be believed, that won’t be the case exactly. During his October AMA, Perez explained what the fans can expect.
A fan asked Perez whether the dynamic between Reed Richards and Victor Von Doom in the MCU’s ‘Secret Wars’ will be as impactful as it was in the 2015 ‘Secret Wars’ comic. Alex responded that it would be challenging since Doom and Reed don’t interact much in the upcoming ‘Fantastic Four’ movie.
He suggested that their relationship might resemble that of Thanos and Tony Stark in ‘Infinity War,’ where Tony is aware of a looming threat but doesn’t know who it is until later, while Doom is more informed about Reed.
This makes sense, sort of, since Doom was always more obsessed about Reed than vice versa. There’s also the fact that Doom is going to be introduced “rather later” in the Multiverse Saga, meaning there wasn’t that much time to set up the proper dynamic between the two of them.
