Dr. Doom’s ‘Superior Avengers’ Coming in April (Six-Issue Limited Series)

Doctor Doom is about to shake up the Marvel Universe like never before in ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, a major event launching next month. Under Doom’s iron rule, the world may be subdued, but Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are far from defeated.

In response to this global domination, Doom is putting together his own Avengers team—one that’s darker, more ruthless, and, as he claims, far superior to any Avengers lineup seen before.

This April, readers will meet the Superior Avengers in a six-issue limited series by writer Steve Foxe (TIMESLIDE, NEW CHAMPIONS) and artist Luca Maresca (VENOM WAR: LETHAL PROTECTORS, X-MEN: FOREVER).

This isn’t your typical Avengers roster. Instead, Doom’s team features twisted versions of Marvel supervillains, including Abomination, Doctor Octopus, Ghost, Killmonger, Malekith, and Onslaught. But there’s more than meets the eye—questions swirl around their true identities, origins, and loyalties.

The story takes a unique twist with Kristoff Vernard, Doctor Doom’s son, leading the charge to assemble this deadly new team. As the Superior Avengers rise, readers will discover what makes them tick and why they see themselves as superior to past iterations of Earth’s heroes. What’s their ultimate goal, and how does it fit into Doom’s vision for the world? These answers promise to unravel in ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM.

Writer Steve Foxe expressed his excitement about the project, sharing, “Introducing new characters to the Marvel Universe—let alone a whole cast—is both thrilling and nerve-wracking. When editor Wil Moss approached me with the idea of creating a mysterious and intense Avengers team for ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, I knew I had to go big.

These Avengers may have familiar names, but you’ll quickly see why they consider themselves superior. This story has some of the most brutal, large-scale action I’ve ever written for Marvel, and I couldn’t ask for a better collaborator than Luca Maresca.”

Maresca, who worked closely on the design of these new characters, added, “Doctor Doom has always been one of my favorite villains, so it’s incredible to explore this side of his story. While designing these characters, I wanted to keep nods to their classic versions, whether in their outfits or equipment, while also giving them fresh identities. I’m excited for readers to uncover the layers of these characters as the story unfolds. Expect plenty of surprises!”

Fans can already preview R.B. Silva’s striking main cover and Maresca’s original character designs.
