‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is one of the most anticipated movies in the MCU, set to release on July 25, 2025. Based on set leaks, everything looks promising so far.
The movie will take place in an alternate reality where the Fantastic Four are already an established team. It’s also expected to feature some of their most famous villains.
The cast for First Steps includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, with Moss-Bachrach using CGI and performance capture for his role.
Julia Garner will play Shalla-Bal, also known as the MCU’s Silver Surfer, while Ralph Ineson will portray Galactus, one of Marvel’s most powerful villains (depending on how you see him). Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne have been cast in undisclosed roles, and Mole Man is also expected to appear.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and discussed several aspects of the movie. Naturally, he was asked to spill some tea on the movie’s details that he isn’t allowed to disclose, and Kimmel even went as far as to ask him whether he and RDJ hit it off on the set since Doctor Doom is expected to be featured in the movie in a smaller role.
The actor joked that he and RDJ became so close that they live together now, before saying that he is not allowed to reveal anything as he went through rigorous media training:
“Yeah, we live together now. He asked me to move in. […] It’s not gonna happen. I’ve been through rigorous media training.
Kimmel then asked him to spill some details on The Thing, and luckily in that aspect Moss-Bachrach revealed he filmed scenes for the movie where he used The Thing’s famous catchphrase, “It’s Clobberin’ Time.” He said he added it a few times but doesn’t have control over the final version, so we’ll have to wait and see if it makes the cut.
I have seen a very crude rendering because it takes a while to build something. They have so many animators working on this. I wear these motion capture suits, two cameras so they are capturing every move, every nuance, every expression, every thought. So it takes a while to build it. They are building it right now.
I slipped it in there a few times! We’ll see what happens. I don’t have [the] final cut on this one, so we’ll see.
Based on everything the actor is saying, we are very hopeful that his version of the Thing will be very accurate. Fans already had the opportunity to catch a sneak peek at Bachrach in the costume back when the movie was filming and some leaks from the set were making rounds:
